WW1 Commemorations Chesterfield Market Beer Festival.

A short service of remembrance will take place in the Assembly Rooms on Saturday 3rd November at 1.00pm as part of the WW1 themed Chesterfield CAMRA Beer festival. Ex servicemen, including Rob Nash and Ken Smith will be it attendance along with Standard Bearers and buglers MIck Bridge and Ken Truswell. The last post will be played followed by a minutes silence and a wreath of purple poppies will be laid by June Lane at the Poppy Cascade to remember all the animals who were killed or gave their lives in World War One.

This will be followed at 2.00pm by a talk and illustrated presentation from amateur historian Councillor Steve Brunt entitled “A Brief History of WW1 and “Memorials and War Graves on the Western Front Today with a focus on France and Belgium” All are welcome to attend, in room 2 off main hall.
